Recall Alert: 2012 Nissan Titan

Nissan is recalling 918 model-year 2012 versions of the Titan pickup truck because a label lists the incorrect seating capacity, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The affected vehicles were built from June 10 through July 22, 2011, and are equipped with the Sport Appearance Package. You can check your vehicle's build date on a sticker on the driver-side doorjamb. These vehicles are equipped with two bucket seats in front and a three-seat bench in the rear; the tire information label indicates a capacity of six passengers. An incorrect seating capacity could lead to vehicle overloading and increase the risk of an accident, NHTSA says. Nissan will notify owners starting May 14 and will give owners a new label. Owners can install the label themselves or visit a dealership for assistance, free of charge. Owners can call Nissan at 800-647-7261 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more info.
