Leather, Efficient Heating Coming to 2013 Nissan Leaf

Nissan added more standard features to its Leaf electric car for 2012, and the automaker is planning even more updates for 2013. Nissan is adding leather seats, a darker interior option and a more efficient heating system to the Leaf next year, the Detroit News reports. This comes on top of updates added to the 2012 version, which include a standard battery heater, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, heated side mirrors and a rear climate vent. Mark Perry, Nissan's director of product and advanced planning, told the Detroit News that the changes are in response to customer feedback. Nissan sold about 9,700 Leafs in the U.S. last year even though it was only recently made available in all 50 states. Nissan will start production of the 2013 Leaf in December at the automaker's plant in Smyrna, Tenn. Cars.com owns a 2011 Nissan Leaf and is currently testing the 2012 model.
