BMW to Debut 2012 M6 Convertible and Refreshed, U.S.-Spec 2013 X1 Crossover [New York Auto Show]

2012 BMW M6 convertible

BMW has announced it will debut the 2012 M6 convertible and updated 2013 X1 crossover for the first time at the 2012 New York auto show. The company already released M6 convertible information and photos ahead of this year's Geneva auto show (our story on the car is here), but it will make its first auto-show appearance in the Big Apple.

BMW's X1 compact crossover has been on sale in Europe (the pre-refresh model is pictured below) for a few years now, so it will get revised for 2013. We're told the changes will be similar in scope to those made to the 2013 X6. The tweaks come just in time for the X1's delayed U.S. launch, which finally will happen this summer. When it finally arrives on dealer lots, the X1 will be powered by BMW's turbocharged, 2.0-liter four. Expect more details to be made available closer to the X1′s premiere in New York.
